Theatre  And  Square  Politeama

The theatre was built by Giuseppe Damiani Almeyda between 1867 and 1874; its neoclassical style is influenced by Pompeian architecture, with curved surface and superimposed ambulatories adorned with a double order of Doric and Ionic columns. The curved façade is broken by a protruding body forming a triumphal arch. On the top of the building, the spectacular bronze high-relief by Mario Rutelli, a quadriga flanked by two genii on horseback.
